Behavior Management System

This is a plan that I created during my student teaching for a fourth grade class.

Mindfulness

Over the last few years I have incorporated some mindfulness activities into my teaching. They have generally fallen into the category of Classroom and Behavior Management.

Some of the techniques I have used or facilitated are

• guided meditation,

• mindful breathing,

• shark fin, and

• breathing hands.

I have found these activities to increase student's focus.

Token Economy

In Kindergarten, we used a token economy. The students would receive a coupon when desired behavior was observed. After receiving 5 coupons, the students were able to trade them in for a choice from the prize box. The students loved to count their coupons!
